Where Psychiatry Meets High Performance

If you're driven, ambitious, and running on empty, you're in the right place.

I'm Dr. Edgar Ortega, a board-certified psychiatrist. I work with founders, executives, physicians, and attorneys who are still performing at a high level and quietly paying for it.

Prescription to Perform is a 12 to 16 week coaching program built on clinical depth, not generic wellness advice.

High Output on a
Cracked Foundation

The calendar is optimized. The responsibilities are significant. The skill set is proven. But the system underneath, sleep, attention, stress regulation, mood, nutrition, recovery, is running hot. You're not burned out enough to stop. You're just no longer performing with the same ease, clarity, or resilience you used to.

Brain fog, decision fatigue, inconsistent focus.

Difficulty recovering between demands, or turning the mind off after work.

Perfectionism, overfunctioning, reactivity, trouble delegating.

The private question: I've achieved this much, so why do I still feel off?

Frustration with wellness advice that doesn't account for a high-pressure life.

Sustainable peak performance is not a product of willpower. It's the natural output of a well-regulated nervous system, a nourished brain, a clear sense of purpose, and behavioral architecture that holds under pressure.

Who This Is For

Executives, founders, physicians, attorneys, and professionals operating under sustained, high-stakes pressure.
Driven people who are still performing but sense the cost is getting too high.
Leaders who want deeper support than generic coaching, and aren't looking for therapy. Professionals ready for honest reflection, practical experimentation, and measurable change.

What This Is Not

This is not psychotherapy, psychiatric treatment, diagnosis, medication management, or crisis care.
It's not a supplement list. It's not a morning routine. It's a structured, personalized coaching and education experience built on clinical depth.

Three Foundations, One Method

  • Board-Certified Psychiatrist

Clinical pattern recognition. The mental health dynamics that show up disguised as performance problems.

    Why it matters:
You're not working with someone guessing at burnout, focus loss, or emotional regulation.

  • Integrative Psychiatry, 125+ Hours

Gut-brain medicine, nutritional psychiatry, metabolic regulation, sleep science, trauma tools, botanical medicine.

Why it matters: Your biology gets addressed, not just your mindset.

  • Harvard Lifestyle & Wellness Coaching

Motivational interviewing, SMART goals, resilience architecture, evidence-based behavior change.

Why it matters: Insight becomes lasting action, through a methodology built for busy adults.

Every Topic Lives Under One of Five Systems

ENERGY

Sleep, recovery, nutrition, movement, inflammation, metabolic awareness.

FOCUS

Attention, technology, digital overload, cognitive clarity, deep work.

STRESS REGULATION

Nervous system awareness, emotional regulation, resilience, pressure response.

LEADERSHIP PRESENCE

Relationships, communication, attachment patterns, co-regulation.

PURPOSE & EXECUTION

Values, motivation, goals, accountability, behavior change.

The Structure
12 to 16 weeks. Each phase builds on the last.

  • Phase 1 | Weeks 1 to 2 Assess the Performance System

Identify what's silently draining energy, focus, mood, and resilience.

  • Phase 2 | Weeks 3 to 6 Rebuild the Biological Foundation

Sleep, nutrition, gut-brain health, metabolism, movement.

  • Phase 3 | Weeks 7 to 10 Upgrade the Mental OPERATING SYSTEM

Cognitive patterns, stress responses, values, resilience.

  • Weeks 11 to 16 Build Sustainable Excellence

Integrate the system into a maintainable long-term performance rhythm.

You Leave Phase 1 With Something in Writing

After the assessment, every client receives a written Performance Prescription: a prioritized map of your specific performance levers, in order of what will move first.

It directs the entire program. It gets updated at every phase transition.

Most people have never seen their own system laid out this way.

Investment

Prescription to Perform runs in three formats: private one-to-one, small group, and larger group. Same clinical methodology across all three. Programs range from $2,500 to $10,000 depending on format, length, and depth of access.

Format is determined on the fit call, based on what your situation actually calls for.

About Dr. Edgar Ortega

I built Prescription to Perform because I kept seeing the same pattern: extraordinary external results, and an internal system quietly falling apart underneath them.

I'm a board-certified psychiatrist with more than 125 hours of advanced integrative psychiatry training, covering gut-brain medicine, nutritional psychiatry, metabolic optimization, trauma tools, sleep science, and botanical medicine. I also hold a Lifestyle and Wellness Coaching Certificate from Harvard Executive Education.

My approach is collaborative and direct. I explain complex things simply without losing the depth.

Driven people deserve a coach who can think at the level they're actually operating.
